During the previous 30 years PALIKKA has proved to be a superior building system for all kinds of sound and safe building constructions. The Original PALIKKA Building Block (the length of the element is 120 cm, the thickness 30 cm, the height 20 cm and the weight only 1 kg!) is suitable for constructions from basements 5 meters below ground to 5 - 6 stores high stone buildings.

Foundations and underground basements for all types of stone buildings, wooden bungalows and blockhouses are easily erected with the ultra lightweight PALIKKA Building Blocks. The easy to use original PALIKKA Building System has been developed for DIY builders, who want to make use of their spare time and build their own warm home without previous building experience.

Too much "knowledge" and experience of the laborious, slow and
expensive building process with the old fashioned traditional methods and materials is in fact a handicap. The PALIKKA System has been used all over Europe and is popular especially in the cold northern countries.

PALIKKA is the simple building system for the smart builder. Only one type and size of PALIKKA Building Blocks is needed, which greatly simplifies planning and the whole building process. Buildings and constructions of all shapes and sizes are easily achieved: long and high linear walls, corners of all angles, curved walls of any shape and dimension, towers, even domes and spheres are easily made without extra costs. Windows and doors can be shaped as you like, e.g. round windows are easy to make.

Constructional pillars and beams spanning up to 6 meters in length have been made. The versatility of the original PALIKKA System also enables the innovative architect to create previously impossible or expensive architectural designs that are now easily built without extra costs with PALIKKA. In fact, many of the demanding constructions made possible by the Original PALIKKA Building System, save both money and time compared with the old fashioned materials still widely used today.

A thermally fully insulated steel reinforced concrete foundation for an ordinary one-family bungalow can easily be erected in a day or two. A complete stone building (or an underground basement) is usually erected in about a week by the DIY family. 1 Pile the PALIKKA Building Blocks to form a concrete mould
of any size and shape you like
2 Insert the ordinary steel reinforcement without binding or welding
3 Fill the mould with concrete.

Your stone building , sound foundation, underground basement, or why not your heart-shaped swimming pool, is ready for use. The PALIKKA surface can be directly plastered or rendered, covered with wooden panel , ceramic tiles or bricks etc. Building with the original PALIKKA System is simple and lightweight, only ordinary hand tools are needed!

The Original PALIKKA mould has been used for all types of foundations for all kinds of buildings, huge multistory buildings and small cottages. When you build on ordinary ground like sand or gravel, the ecological ANTTU slab mould made of paper, is the easiest and fastest way to make a sound foundation. The ANTTU slab foundation is finished in a day or less. If the ground is too soft and it is necessary to build your house on poles, no separate foundation beam is needed: the original PALIKKA moulds are simply piled directly upon the poles and filled with steel reinforced concrete, The PALIKKA is in itself the constructional steel reinforced concrete beam. It is equally easy to build on a hard ground, like on solid rock. The underside of the PALIKKA element is shaped with an ordinary handsaw to match the surface of the rock, the usual steel reinforcement is inserted and the mould is filled with concrete.

When the PALIKKA foundation is finished, you simply repeat the same three simple steps twice and soon your safe and cozy home is ready for moving in. The thermally fully insulated walls of a 100 m2 PALAZI stone castle are usually erected in a week by 2...3 persons.

Since the 1970´s the superior k-value of a PALIKKA stonewall is the best on the market (k= 0,18!). Thus the PALIKKA ORIGINAL construction also fulfills the new and more stringent thermal insulation requirements deemed by the authorities again in 2003!

The warm and airtight, but naturally breathing PALIKKA construction is completely free of cold bridges between the various building parts , thus making the PALIKKA excellent for ecological and energy saving low-energy buildings. Naturally the fully insulated PALIKKA construction does not need any additional thermal insulation.

The superior thermal insulation of the Original PALIKKA Building Block also makes it the right choice when building in the wintertime: The newly poured concrete cannot freeze inside the warm mould. The Original PALIKKA® Building Block has been used without problems in arctic conditions in temperatures of minus 25 degrees Celsius. When the concrete has hardened the moulds left in site function as the thermal insulation of the building.

The PALIKKA ORIGINAL is the only building product which has a patented built in ventilation system, which effectively removes and prevents all the moisture end mildew problems so typical and common in other building materials. PALIKKA does not adsorb water and does not rotten. A PALIKKA storehouse is safe and does not burn and does not emit toxic fumes in a fire.

The environmentally safe PALIKKA ORIGINAL Building Block is made of highest quality food-grade polystyrene. Only steam, pure water, compressed air and electricity are used in the PALIKKA production. A PALIKKA house is safe also for allergic persons. All the parts of a sound PALIKKA house can be recirculated into new products.

PALIKKA does not contain any harmful or toxic components, no heavy metal residues and there are no poisonous additives.
