ESA Entry Systems, a world leading provider of electronic locking systems, is proud to officially unveil its rebranding as Onity and to highlight several strategic growth and repositioning strategies intertwined with its mission evolving into a true one-stop solutions shop for intelligent facility management.
Developed in assistance with LANDOR Associates, the worlds leading branding consultancy, the Onity brand name, corporate identity and expanded mission, better fit the companys recent extension of services and intelligent facility management solutions.
TESA Entry Systems began sowing the seeds to its expanded solutions and services business model several years ago, when it launched a complete range of electronic safes for guestrooms. In 2001, the company joined forces with PHILIPS to design and provide Closed Circuit TeleVision (CCTV) solutions specifically for the hotel industry worldwide. In 2002, TESA Entry Systems continued its progression toward becoming a one-stop shop for smart facility solutions by acquiring SENERCOMM, a leading global provider of energy management solutions for hotels. Other acquisitions and service and solution expansions are planned for the near future.
Growth through Change
When pointing to the major drivers behind this strategic corporate rebranding and repositioning, perhaps George Bernard Shaw summed it up best when saying: Progress is impossible without change.
For decades, TESA Entry Systems has been a world leading manufacturer of electronic locks for Hospitality, as well as other sectors such as Education, Corporate, Government and Marine. Through the years, as technologies became intertwined, the company expanded its services and solutions and blossomed into much more than just a lock maker.

One-Stop Shop
The companys rebranding as Onity represents an evolutionary change, underlining TESA Entry Systems continued migration toward developing and delivering a host of innovative, intelligent facility management solutions. The repositioning as Onity, on the other hand, represents a revolutionary change as the company is redefining both itself and customer expectations as a whole worldwide.
In an effort to truly differentiate itself from others that are more product-oriented and singular in vision, Onity is upping the value proposition through expanded service excellence. From product concept, develop-ment and testing, all the way through production, delivery, support and consulting, at Onity customer input is the key to unlocking the power of the companys talented minds and technologies.
Onity promises the ultimate unity of service integrity and intelligent facility management.
Get turned on to a true one-stop shop that delivers next-generation service standards and a host of innovative solutions. A longstanding global leader, Onity is committed to simplifying clients purchasing and payables functions, while providing single-source accountability. Onitys ever-expanding breadth of products and services also works to streamline clients communi-cations needs and bolsters Return On Investment across the board, across the globe. The fact is that when a company such as Onity offers a full range of solutions, it naturally conducts more business with each client. As each party now has more vested in the other, an expanded partnership blossoms. Together, as true partners, Onity and its clients are uniquely positioned to work together to take service and product development and delivery to levels only before dreamed of.
Suited for Growth
With more than 2 million electronic locking systems installed in more than 16,000 hotels worldwide, TESA Entry Systems is a name with rich history and significant global recognition and brand equity. While the company realised a clear need to have a new, expanded service suit tailor-made, it took great care to partner with LANDOR, the worlds leading rebranding/repositioning experts.

Applications Development
SIS is a major applications developer and its Case Preparation, Custody, Crime and Command & Control systems are all live and working with police forces across the UK.
Command & Control, in particular, is being hailed as an innovative piece of software. During testing over 99% of all transactions achieved a response time of less than one second. In the most stringent scenario, designed to represent a very high rate of incident creation over a short period, the application still delivered the required sub-second response times with incidents being created at the rate of 390 per minute, which is equivalent to 23,000 per hour.
All applications are in daily use and are proving to be remarkably resilient and responsive.
Communication and Control Room Solutions
SIS has supplied more than 65% of the UK police market with its DS1000/2000 Integrated Communications Control Systems (ICCS), which having proved their resilience and reliability with analogue communications are now showing their versatility with the advent of the TETRA based Airwave system. The DS2000 ICCS supports both analogue and digital radio, thereby easing the organisations migration path, making it manageable and progressive.
Ambulance and Fire Services are also major SIS customers in the field of Mobile Data and Automatic Vehicle Location. Years of experience of systems integration allows SIS to offer an unrivalled understanding of the problems and pitfalls inherent in the process, and makes SIS involvement a prerequisite when designing and specifying mission-critical communication systems and protocols.
SIS has the ability to design, develop, integrate, supply, implement, train, maintain and manage all the elements of the fixed and mobile, voice and data communications process.

GE Interlogix, CASI Division has announced Picture Perfect 2.0 an enterprise access control and security management system. The new release offers many enhancements including advanced access control technology, alarm monitoring capabilities (also with email notification), scalability and availability in stand alone, redundant and enterprise environments.
The new eFlash feature allows us to upgrade our system live, without downtime, said Sean Green, senior project engineer for Bausch & Lomb. This is important since we use Picture Perfect for monitoring both our security systems and for our mission critical factory operations. We cant afford for the system to be down ever, even during upgrades.
GE manufactures both the Picture Perfect software and micro controllers. This ensures backwards compatibility, protects the investment customers have already made and extends the life of the security system. In addition, Picture Perfect features a modular architecture, allowing unlimited expandability. Picture Perfect also allows web-based clients and web-based reporting which improves access and provides more detailed reporting capabilities. Picture Perfects visitor system replaces manual visitor logbooks. This system frees up valuable time for security personnel and allows them to focus on other business instead of creating badges.
Picture Perfect is designed as a mission-critical application and works on IBM RS/6000 series servers running AIX5.1L or Intel architecture servers running Red Hat Linux 7.3. Picture Perfect 2.0 also supports the Informix Dynamic Server IDS 2000 9.3, which provides increased management capabilities for complex databases without compromising system performance and scalability.

ATM Security-Video
Surveillance With Digital Recording
|
ATM security goes beyond just video surveillance. GE Interlogix - Kalatel components combine to provide video surveillance with digital recording. In addition, ATM transaction text is captured and stored with the video. This allows reviewers to quickly identify persons involved in events such as a robbery, or to scrutinize transactions to counter attempted fraud.
Digital Recording for ATMs
Digital recorders are ideal for stand- alone ATMs. The increased record duration of a digital recorder (over time- lapse VCRs) and the ability to record continuously by automatically overwriting the oldest recorded video is beneficial to ATM environments, where the unit may be left unattended for days.
Tape catalogs are eliminated, and Ethernet compatible digital recorders allow the user to view live and recorder video remotely. Digital recorders such as the DVMRe-16CT can record up to 16 cameras, but where less cameras are needed the four channel DVMRe-4CT provides a cost effective solution.
Capturing Transaction Text
The DVMRe-CT is capable of capturing ASCII text data transmitted by an ATM during a transaction. This feature is useful for identifying people in transaction video. The DVMRe uses a ProBridge 3 ATM interface to capture the text transmitted by the ATM. Once captured and translated, the data is inputted to the DVMRe via the RS-232 port 2. The DVMRe assigns the data to a camera based on settings made to the ProBridge unit, then stores the data with the associated video file.
Viewing Transaction Text
Once the text data has been recorded with the video, the user can search for alphanumeric text strings from either the front panel of the DVMRe or the WaveReader software. Once the search is complete, the user can view the video associated with that transaction. Because the video is recorded digitally, the search function quickly locates the video without having to manually search with fast forward or rewind.
