The AutroSafe Detectors
Born with a unique identity, ensuring the quality of system commissioning and updating. During production, each AutroSafe detector or interfaces given a unique serial number that stays with the detector for lifetime. This serial number identifies the type of unit and its default settings. Interactive detectors with intelligence. The DYFI+ digital filtering is now present in each detector. Sabre Perimeter Intruder Detection Systems

Remsdaq's Sabre equipment is a perimeter protection technology employing optical fibre sensors and suitable for most applications including intrinsically safe areas where there is risk of fire or explosion due to flammable gas / vapour. New Fire Detection System Compact

The Compact Fire Detection System with Numerous Function Characteristics SecuriPro Compact, the new fire detection system from Securiton, is suitable above all for small and middle sized objects. In view of its special functionality, this compact system is also able to fulfill complex demands. SecuriPro Compact has the same operation systematic as the SecuriPro fire detection system, since the same components and modules are used. The difference is the number of detector rings: SecuriPro has a limit of two detector rings. On these SecuriLines up to 254 participants ö detectors and modules - can be connected. Of course the complete SecuriStar fire detector range can be connected to the SecuriPro Compact, namely the new combined smoke and heat detector STD 531 as well as the proven scattered light smoke detector and universal temperature detector. That includes all special fire detectors like aspiration smoke detection systems, linear heat detectors or explosion proof detectors. Apart from the hardware, new operation software was developed: SecuriWin easy. This stands out for commissioning the main control unit with a PC on a Windows-surface without any special tools and enables the planner and installer to work in their usual PC-world. Specialised employees who work with SecuriPro can execute the programming and commissioning very fast. The program is set up so that all components of the compact system are listed and can be chosen in the screen-work-sheets. Within this screen-work-sheets only the assignment and the function have to be chosen and confirmed. This means a minimum of time must be invested and results in a very cost effective commissioning and programming.

SLS Compact Alarm Management System

The SLS Compact alarm management system is used for centralised monitoring and remote controlling fire and intrusion alarm panels. It is designed as a single workstation for the use of alarm services, fire brigade or surveillance organisations. All the messages are indicated on the alarm list in a display sorted according to priorities. Different type of messages are marked with different types of colours. The simple operation using mouse and keyboard results in a high level of user acceptance and is identical for all the connected systems. In most cases the operating staff only needs a short instruction to familiarise with the equipment. The operating sequence and the clear structure of the user interface are such that even staff without any prior knowledge of security or technical skills is soon able to operate the SLS Compact system. The connected systems can be remote controlled using the dynamics graphics (several levels) or object list. SLS Compact workstation consists of a Pentium PC and operating system Windows NT 4.0. The subsystems (maximum 8) are connected through serial interfaces. A log printer and an operation printer can be connected to the PC, if required.

Temperature Sensor Cable SecuriLines TSC 511

The sensor cable of the TSC 511 system is an integrated data collection system which uses a bus system for collecting data from different sensor place at regular intervals along the cable itself. The sensor cable TSC 511 is design according to EN 54/5 Class A1. A Cable Terminal Processor (CTP) is able to control up to 3 sensor cables, each of 2 Km length (one sensor every 7.2m). An analysis logic decides, based on programmable threshold values, if an alarm or a failure signal will be issued. Multiple sensors may be analysed together forming groups. Analysis criteria like multiple sensor dependency are easily configured. The configuration is done by a remote PC using a dedicated software. The system may be connected to the a PC and/or a fire alarm panel. The construction of the cable provides high resistance in harsh environment covering a very large areas of application such us; road and train tunnels, underground and city railway, parking garages, refineries, industrial plants in general, conveyors. The cable is mounted using the pre-mounted clips (every 80-120 cm), and due to this simple and efficient method, the costs per meter of installed cable are kept low. Even cost and time effective is the repairing process which is easily done by inserting a new piece of for replacing the one using connection boxes.

Total Containment Vessels for Explosives From NABCO

ABCO Inc. introduces two new products to its long line of Total Containment Vessels for explosives. The NABCO Portable Total Containment Vessel (PTCV) Designed for one-person ease of operation, this totally portable unit is perfect for explosive screening operations in high profile public facilities, mail screening operations and other high risk environments. Within 10 seconds, a suspect package can be loaded into the unit and the door secured utilising the unique SpinSafe design developed by SRI International. The cylinder-within-a-cylinder unit measures only 55" x 33" wide, with a 13" access port, and can contain up to 3 pounds of explosives. The unit provides additional flexibility for the EOD technician by allowing the entire unit to be removed from a facility and transported to a disposal range for completion of render-safe operations. Faster than the Fire Brigade- GreCon Spark Extinguishing Systems Prevent Fires Before They Begin

For many companies, pneumatic or mechanical conveying systems have become an indispensable part of the production facilities. Not only are dust and bulk materials being transported by these systems "as planned", however, but also sparks created by the machinery. These sparks carry with them a substantial risk of fire or explosion when they reach the downstream plant areas, such as filters and silos. Today, it is easy to equip production plants with GreCon Spark Extinguishing Systems to prevent fires and explosions. GreCon Spark Extinguishing Systems detect ignition sources within the conveying systems and eliminate them before they reach the filters and silos, without interruption of the production process. General Construction of GreCon Spark Extinguishing Systems: The core of GreCon Spark Extinguishing Systems is a processor based control console. Here the information is collected for evaluation. The status of an entire system is regulated by automatic programmable functions and is set to immediately trigger a trouble message in the case of a malfunction. Upon installation, all connection cables are tested and the status of the extinguishing water circuit is checked using pressure and water flow switches. Furthermore, the operator can carry out additional manual system checks, including activation of all the components. A high degree of system and operation reliability is therefore achieved, which plays an important role in safety regulations. Different spark sensors are available for different installation places or applications. There are, for example, spark detectors which are suitable for installations in high ambient temperatures or where daylight penetrates the installation place. Besides the spark detectors, additional indicators like thermo or smoke detectors can be connected to the control console and integrated into the entire concept. Depending on the events which are registered by the sensors, graded alarms may activate immediate measures via different outputs of the control console. Usually, water extinguishment devices are triggered. It is, of course, also possible to divert or interrupt the material flow by means of fire traps or shut-off gates.
Planning of GreCon Spark Extinguishing Systems:
To insure that detected ignition sources are reliably extinguished, spark detectors and extinguishing devices have to be installed at a certain distance from each other. This distance is calculated by determining the velocity of the material being conveyed or the falling velocity with a delay time, which is dependent on the cross section of the conveying duct and the system. As the entire cross section of the conveying duct has to be filled with a water mist spray after an alarm, a delay time is absolutely necessary and has to be taken into account for planning. In the case of an exhaust duct with a nominal width of 510 mm, the delay time is 230 ms. With a conveying velocity of 30 m/sec., the distance between spark detector and extinguishing device should be 6.9 m. Handling of GreCon Spark Extinguishing Systems: A GreCon Spark Extinguishing System is operated and configured directly at the control console in conversational method by means of a menu-driven, self-explaining software package. The operator can make entries via the keyboard and is given information from the system on the integrated display. All necessary adjustments and operations can therefore be easily programmed to meet individual needs. When sparks are detected, alarms can be activated in graded levels. An immediate alarm (alarm level 1) may warn the operator upon detection of the first spark. Depending on the application, a second alarm level can also be configured to activate when either the predetermined time period for spark flight is exceeded or the preset number of detected sparks is exceeded. Besides an indication on the display, all alarms are available as single alarms and, additionally as summation alarm, in form of voltage-free relay contacts and may be used to link the control console with higher-ranking systems or to shut down machinery. Voltage-free relay contacts are also available for trouble messages. All events are then stored in a data memory to be called up on the display at any time. The operating status and history of the system is thus always comprehensible and may be documented by a printer.

Pilkington Pyroshield Can Take the Heat

Faster than the Fire Brigade- GreCon Spark Extinguishing Systems Prevent Fires Before They Begin

Pilkington Pyroshield, a low cost, widely tested and commonly used fire glazing material enjoys a virtually unshakeable following amongst specifiers in this sector and is used extensively throughout the world, says its UK based manufacturer Pilkington. Pyroshield is a widely used fire-resistant glass. Across a huge range of applications, in both timber and steel frames it is relied upon to save lives. It is a specialist architectural glass product which, in the event of fire, can provide an effective barrier to smoke and hot gases (integrity). These unique properties are obtained through sandwiching an electrically welded steel wire mesh centrally between two layers of molten glass in one continuous rolling process. On exposure to fire, the glass fractures but is held in one piece by the wire mesh, thus maintaining integrity by preventing collapse and the passage of smoke and flames. When installed, Pyroshield has the advantage of being visually identifiable as fire resistant glass. The glass maintains its integrity when fractured or sprayed with water. In most cases of breakage pieces of glass do not fall out or become dislodged. The ability of Pyroshield to provide a fire barrier in the most demanding of circumstances is supported by extensive fire test evidence and real fire experience. Consequently, these glass products are increasingly used in building throughout the world when cost effective fire resistant glazing is required in widows, partitions and doors. Most people trust it because of the thoroughness with which it is tested. Pyroshield is tested repeatedly in the widest range of framing materials and to the largest sizes. It is frequently the product of choice for schools, hospitals and other public institutions. Pilkington Pyroshieldú provides up to 120 minutes integrity in steel frames and 60 minutes in softwood frames ö an accomplishment that Pilkington claims is unequalled. Most importantly it has a proven track record in real fires saving lives over many years. The glass is available in two forms ö clear for visual clarity and texture when obscuration is required. Fireray Beam Smoke Detectors

The DigiTool has grown popular with guard patrol services by providing a versatile tool for keeping track of multiple clients with its customer database, and easing routine tasks such as setting up guard patrol tours or creating tour reports. The standard DigiTool kit comes with a data reader, a leather holster, an upload/download docking station/ charger, an event book, location tags, and the DigiTool Reports Lite PC software. The data reader reads and time-stamps metal Buttons from Dallas Semiconductor USA, and downloads the data of up to 8000 events to the PC for the creation of useful reports. Made of stainless steel and rugged polycarbonate plastic, the reader is durable and weather-proof and is powered by two high capacity lithium-ion batteries. The upload/ download docking station has a built in battery charger and makes transferring stored tour data to the PC as simple as pushing a button. DigiTool Reports Lite PC software can produce eight different types of reports that can be used to analyse events that have occurred at a clients site, review the performance of guards, provide reports to clients and much more.
